Subject:Anon and other list restrictions From:"Nagai, Paul" <pnagai -at- VISA -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 20 Sep 1995 12:36:00 PDT
I prefer:
Do not restrict anonymous posting, someday, I may want to ask a question or
post an opinion that doesn't include my identity. To protect that
capability, I'll suffer the odd anonymous TROLL and subsequent protests,
flames, etc. (we could reduce these by contacting directly those who further
increase noise by responding to obvious trolls).
Restrict attachments (or at least requiring that these be moderated if the
software would allow that). Attachments don't impact me negatively, but I
can certainly understand how they do others.
Do not restrict newsgroup access. I currently prefer e-mail access to
TECHWR-L, but I do follow other mailing lists via newsgroup access. They are
distinct access methods and suit differing tastes/needs/time restrictions.
Preserve that distinction.
