Here, Here to the comments of Michael J. Maloney who has both my support and my
thanks for his defense of "graphics weenies" as Guy McDonald has labeled us.

In addition to a degree in Languages and English, I also hold the German
equivalent of an A.A. degree in Graphic Design which I earned in Darmstadt
Germany, at the foot of the original Bauhaus. Although I have worked almost
exclusively in the overlapping fields of documentation and training since then,
I use my training and skills in graphics to support both these efforts.

I, too, take umbrage at McDonald's apparent disdain of the power and impact
that we, graphics weenies impart to documentation. Often the difference between
understanding a written concept and misunderstanding it is a simple, but
concise, graphic. We all know that anyone can create a graphic, but few of us
can create effective graphics. Anyway, if McDonald thought more of us graphics
weenies, and better understood what good, effective graphics can bring to a
project, he might be able to bid in the seven figure range and get awarded
contracts.
