I look for a technical writer who can produce a finished piece of work. If
this means farming out the index, and I know that that's what it means,
it's OK with me. Continuing with this thought, I look for resumes that are
informative, attractive, and grammatically correct. If a technical writer
recognizes a personal limitation and chooses to farm out resume
preparation, that's OK too --
and, IMHO, much better than presenting a resume that isn't "properly
finished". I've sat on many a resume review table and I've seen some truely
terrible resumes, both at review tables and presented to me in real-world
hiring situations.

And, as a side note, just because a resume is done professionally doesn't
mean it's good. ;-)
