OTOH, I think it is equally
likely that a hobby or interest you list can work against you.
( - Bev Parks)

** Some possible negative implications of the "Hobbies and
Interests" section, further to Bev's remarks:

- "I pursue various activities that will keep me away
from my job."

- "I have various sociopolitical agendas that I will pursue
at the workplace."

- "I am selling myself as an interesting figure who
deserves support, rather than as a worker who produces."

Personally, on the one hand I remember chucking away a resume
that came in with an "Alternative Lifestyle Experience" section
(backpacking somewhere in India or South America) but on the
other hand I always give positive credit for any musical hobby,
because I think musical talent is associated with good writing.
