I'll add a couple to consider:

-------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Windows 95 Help Authoring Kit,
Microsoft Press, 1995
ISBN 1-55615-892-0

(A book and software for Win 95 help files)
---------------------------------------------------------------

Developing Online Help for Windows,
by Boggan, Farkas, and Welinske,
Sams Publishing, 1993. ISBN 0-672-30230-6

(I understand there is a new edition of this, from a different
publisher. It was due in December but I've had it on order and the
bookstore tells me it hasn't been issued yet because the authors are
holding it up for some reason.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The Developer's Guide to Winhelp.exe
by Jim Mischel
John Wiley & Sons, 1994 ISBN 0-471-30326-7

(For Windows 3.1)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Everyone's Guide to Successful Publications
by Elizabeth W. Adler
Peachpit Press, 1993
ISBN 1-56609-027-X

(A huge and comprehensive guide to document layout,
design, etc. It's 400 pages of examples and explanations.)

One note on your original list. The Horton book on online help has
TWO editions. The second edition is more than an update. . .it's a
complete new slant. I highly recommend both of these, but the second
is a must-have.

Also, I'm going to teach a 3-hour seminar on desktop publishing and
am preparing a quite extensive bibliography. I'll have some books
that pertain to technical writing, marketing communications, etc. If
anyone is interested, please let me know. I'll be glad to either send
you a copy or post it somewhere.

Jane
