Button 1 and button 2 is logical. It may be what we end up using. But do you
think that left-handed people would object to the left button being button 1 if
it is not their primary button?

I just took a look at the Windows NT help for reconfiguring a mouse. They
refer to the buttons as the left button and the right botton. Therefore, I'm
guessing that Microsoft documentation uses the same terms. If a left-handed
person reconfigures their mouse, their right button is now their left button
and vice versa. I'd document the defaults and include a note for user's
that have reconfigured their mouse.

By the way, I asked one of my co-workers who is left-handed and he said thay
he would not be offended. But he isn't very touchy-feely. :-)
