How-dee, back!

To me, "function" refers to a specific function, while "functionality" refers
to the general collection of functions that make up the product. But it is easy
for this pair to contribute to Excessive Verbosity -- "It is the function of
this screen to provide the functionality needed to produce excessively verbose
sentences."

Howdy! Can I get some opinions on using the word "functionality" -- is it
just an inflation of "function" (some of my best friends are engineers) or
is it worth the difference? Thanks.
