This is misleading - Doc2Help is no slower than RoboHelp at *compiling* the
help file (it uses HCP.EXE). However, where Doc2Help takes the time is in
its conversion of your Word document to a help-ready RTF. Eight hours for
this seems excessive (on a fast Pentium with lots of RAM, a 300-topic help
file takes around 30 minutes to convert). And you should remember that the
time it takes to convert the Word document to an RTF is insignificant
compared to time it would take to write a separate manual and help file.
