Technical Writer / Localization Coordinator

Datastream systems, inc., a rapidly growing software company, plans to
hire a technical writer for its localization group later this year. We
are seeking a professional technical writer to coordinate the
translations of our software user manuals and on-line documents from
English to foreign languages. Currently, we are working on Spanish,
German, and French editions of our products. We'll be working on other
European languages and Far Eastern languages in the near future.
Command of the foreign languages is not necessary, but it would be
helpful. The datastream localization group is housed in the
development department and currently consists of 1 technical writer.

Position Requirements

ú degree or advanced degree in technical writing or translations
ú experience in or interest in translation of software documentation
ú knowledge of software documentation principles
ú knowledge of or interest in programming and the defect control
system
ú experience with Windows 95, Microsoft Access, and Paradox 5.0/7.0
ú proficiency in Microsoft Word for Windows 7.0
ú experience with on-line help software, such as Robohelp
ú experience with translation coordination
ú Good organization skills and the ability to work on several projects
simultaneously
