Colleagues,

On pain of beating the sturdy steed to an untimely end, I have to agree with
Eric when he says people read procedures one step at a time. Perhaps over
time, we learn all the steps and need only an occasional reminder when a
detail slips our mind, but to begin with, we generally read and do, read and
do until we complete the cycle. Isn't this why we write a detailed manual and
include a ready-reference card with it?
