They can take offense if they want to be arrogant about it. Of course
they should help with marketing materials. I do it often and am glad to
because I often find differences what's in the documentation and what
marketing wants to say in terms of product capabilities, etc. It also
gives me a chance to make sure the copy is written well. And it can
be a welcome diversion from technical work.
