I have no expertise on the topic, but I can give three interesting examples

- Airplane safety instructions : I have "stolen" one on an Airbus A320, it's
in six languages, but most of the surface is covered by colour drawings or
pictograms.

- Cartridge installation sheet for a laser printer : it's a 12-step
procedure, with text in 4 languages, printed on both sides of the same
sheet. Each step is illustrated by a black-and-white drawing, and the text
covers a bit more than half the surface.

- Heller's model assembly sheet : I stole it... from my son (after he
finished the Jeep Willys...). One page of text, in 5 languages, explaining
the history of the Jeep, one page in 12 languages explaining how to read the
assembly sheet, the latter (an A3 sheet) being ONLY black-and-white
drawings, pictograms and circled figures to show the assembly order.
