Subject:late thanks for fee advice answers From:Bobby Collins <bcollins -at- IPA -dot- NET> Date:Mon, 20 Jan 1997 11:21:41 -0600
1> Thanks to all the helpful souls who WERE willing to share fee advice
2> I apologise for being so long in doing 1> above. Due in a great part to
the assistance I've received on this list, business is booming!!! I run
around grinning all the time!
In reference to the thread about willingness to share info to help others
out, this list is so diverse that the chances of losing business to another
writer by sharing fee info are probably close to zero. And even if that were
to happen - isn't that the whole idea of competition?
A couple of writers here in Fort Smith answered honestly when I asked about
price ranges. I didn't undercut them. I priced about the same. If my client
is willing to go with another writer to save $x an hour, then they'd be
easily stolen by some other criteria (proximity, clothing, club membership,
etc), so don't sweat it.
Again, thanks for the help,
Bobby Collins
