Subject:Platform of 'choice' From:Miki Magyar <MDM0857 -at- MCDATA -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 13 Feb 1997 13:05:17 -0700
Often, there is no choice. Like many of you, I've used DOS, Unix,
Windows, even CP/M (anyone remember CP/M?) and managed to do
decent work on all of them. Hey, it's just tools. I use what I'm given, or
what my clients have, and smile. For my own writing, the words are far
more interesting to me than the guts of the box I use to manifest them. My
perception is that platforms are much more robust than many software
packages - it's rare to be limited by the platform, too common to be limited
by the software.
However and contrariwise, I much prefer heated debates about
platforms to equally heated debates about team sports (the topic of
choice at the coffee pot).
Write on!
