Jane Bergen wondered what to call a branching structure
similar to the files and directories in Windows Explorer.
Jane, FWIW "tree" is a pretty good description of your
interface, particularly if the user guide explains this
approach in the "getting started" section and defines
"tree" in the glossary. It's a simple enough concept that
once you alert your readers to it, they'll have no
problems. You can get more complicated (e.g., call it a
key, nested structure, etc.), but I don't think that's any
improvement.
