Most people seem to think that sans serif fonts are preferable. Given
the low resolution on-screen, some serif fonts can be hard to read,
especially in small sizes.
I also look for fonts that have even strokes (nothing too thin or too
varied) and that have decent letter-spacing (no condensed fonts, but no
widely spaced ones like Helvetica, either).
