Subject:Fonts for online documentation From:AMJ Cornellier <Cornellier -at- MSN -dot- COM> Date:Sun, 23 Feb 1997 20:50:27 UT
Susan Brown asked about "preferred font(s) for online documentation".
Helvetica is a good for Windows 3.x:
1) it's not too hard on the eyeballs &
2) it's likely to be usable on the user's operating system.
WINHELP.EXE can display HLP files containing text that is available to the
system. If text can't be matched the closest available is displayed.
This type of compilation keeps the HLP files size down by avoiding embedding
fonts in them.
Best to stick to the fonts which are shipped with Windows 3.x, namely:
Courier, Helv, Modern, Roman, Script, Symbol, Times Rmn.
I don't know how all this applies to help compilers other than hcp.exe.
Anyone?
