TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Marj Hermansen, the ITPC Manager, is in need of 2 experienced
STC judges (who have participated either at the local/regional level or,
at the International level within few years). The consensus judging (for
non-teleconferencing participants) is scheduled for February 28-March 2
in Salt Lake City, Utah. Teleconferencing judges will be arranging their
teleconferencing meetings to coincide with the Salt Lake meetings, but
will be doing their judging and consensus evaluations over the phone.
STC members across the country are invited to participate.
If you are interested, your swift response to Marj will be sincerely
appreciated. Basic judging requirements include at least two of the
following:
Masters degree or higher
Senior membership in STC
7 years in technical communication (or related field) without membership
in STC
Strong publishing background (5 articles or 1 book)
Teaching experience in technical communcation or related field
Winner of STC technical publications competition award (or similar
competition)
Active volunteer service to STC (1 year at the international level or 2
years at the local level)
Certification by a communication-related professional organization
