I assume that Melonie wants to make the background colour in the .TIF
file transparent for use in some form of on-line documentation. If you
are using a patterned background on an HTML page then you can get some
pretty horrible results if the image does not have a transparent
background.

Oops, I just made a common TW blunder - implicit rather than explicit
information. Shame on me ;-). What I meant was that by saving the .TIF
image as a .GIF image, it is then possible to make the background colour
transparent in Pantshop Pro by setting the save options for the .GIF
file. Then you would use the .GIF image in your document instead of the
.TIF image.
