Drive(s)

 The problem with the (s) construction is that it's often
 unclear to readers that you mean one or more drives would
 be possible. That being the case, "to one or more drives"
 is better. I also have some reservations about "proper",
 since this implies the data goes to the correct drive;
 without context, I'm not sure this is obvious or correct.
 For example, if you're discussing RAID systems, it might be
 better to simply say "drives" (or it might not, depending
 on which RAID level you're talking about). Could you safely
 delete the word, replace it with "correct", or adopt some
 other workaround? Also, is it really the host computer that
 divides the cache data? In many (most?) systems, it's
 actually the RAID controller that does the work so that the
 host cpu doesn't have to do it.
