Parentheses with other punctuation - thanks

Subject: Parentheses with other punctuation - thanks

The other day I posted a question regarding the punctuation of a sentence
that has parentheses enclosing multiple sentences. Thanks to everyone who
responded. The list's consensus was to rewrite rather than to try and follow
an accepted or "appropriate" method of punctuation. I am glad to say that I
was able to persuade the powers-that-be, partially based on your responses,
and we did indeed rewrite as a solution.

As it turned out in this instance, everyone here accepted the solution with
equanimity. But, as we know, standard sentence structure is occasionally
ground under the wheels of ego, which is often unmindful of logic,
assumptions, or existing guidelines.

Thanks again for your support and assistance.
