Subject:Request for Color Printer Recommendations From:"R. John Keene" <rjkeene -at- ISTAR -dot- CA> Date:Sat, 3 May 1997 15:34:13 -0700
I'm looking for personal recommendations for laser color
printers, say around $10,000 more or less.
Recently, I had a sample done on a QMS by a service bureau.
They are quoting about $20,000 for a run of 300 manuals
for 110 single pages printed double-sided and with spiral binding.
Each page has some sort of color, be it a heading or a
screen grab done in FM 5.1.1, on 8.5 x 11 paper. Two-sided
printing is a must in all cases on 70 or 80 lb paper.
What I have tried in-house is a Tektronix 300 that looked okay
but not nearly comparable to the QMS sample. Am I asking for
too much or expecting more than what's available in the lower
end scale color printers?
Thanks to all reaponses,
R. John Keene
