Damon asks why we use Word.
We use it for word processing because
1. It works well across all platforms. The Laboratory staff use both
Macs and PCs, and the Technical Publications Group must be able to
accept material from everybody.
2. It can be brought into PageMaker (our desktop publishing software of
choice) with a minimum of changes.
3. It has a good equations module, and we produce journal articles with
lots of complicated mathematical equations.
