Bad rate. You should get about $1.37 CDN or so for a US $1.00.

If anyone's driving to Toronto, good places to exchange money are the
official Tourist Canada facilities which should be visible after you
clear customs. No commissions or bank charges. If you're entering Canada
via Buffalo, or Niagara Falls, you should see them right after the
bridges. There's also one right on the QEW between Niagara Falls and St.
Catharines.
