What in the world would we do over a half day?! Should I prepare for it
any any differently than I would other interviews?

Where I used to work, we always told interviewees to plan on a half day for
the interview. When the interviewee first got there, he or she would meet with
the Publications Manager briefly, and then the interviewee would be given a
test. There were two parts to the test, each taking 20 minutes, so that took
up the first hour. Then, each person in the department got 20 minutes for a
one-on-one interview with the interviewee. That was roughly another 2 hours.
Then, we took the interviewee to lunch to see how he or she fit in with the
group dynamic. Sometimes, after lunch, some higher up managers wanted to speak
to the interviewee briefly. So that's where the half day went...
