I have been asked in interviews:
o Are you married?
o How many children do you have?
o Why are you wasting my time?
[why did they call me in for an interview?]
o Why should I hire you if males in this
area are unemployed?
I *promise* these were asked!
Illegal? My HR background and experience
tells me this is spades! I used to sit on the
*other* side you see...
How did I handle it?
Smiled sweetly, cut the interview right there,
did not protest, got in my car, and cuzzed a blue
streak.
Pet peeves:
o Interviewers who do not personally thank me for
*my* time when I thank them for theirs.
o Interviewers who send me the standard "rejection
form letter or worse card or worse no letter,
card or communication of any nature.
Rather than writing a quick note to me personally for
my application, time, transportation costs, and energy.
o Interviewers that forget what goes around comes
around... the universal law.
o Interviewers who forget I am a human being.
Life *is* short eh?
