I believe that this one falls into the WARNING category, because there is a
possibility of severe injury or death.
The distinctions between CAUTION and WARNING has been discussed on the
list, so you can probably find some of the posts in the archives; you can
search them online at http://listserv.okstate.edu/archives/techwr-l.html.

Subject : Is this a Caution or a Warning

I have to include a note in the a power supply maintenance manual that I am
writing. The company that I worked for is now using liquid-cooled test
systems and high voltage. When needed, I have to use the following note:
"THE POWER SUPPLIES POSE SERIOUS HIGH VOLTAGE AND HIGH CURRENT
ELECTRICAL HAZARDS DURING SERVICE. MOST POWER SUPPLY TERMINALS AND
BACKPLANE BUSES PRESENT AN ELECTRICAL HAZARD. EXTRA CAUTION AND CARE MUST
BE EMPHASIZED WHEN SERVICING THESE AREAS. DUE TO THE HIGH POWER HAZARDS,
RINGS, WATCHES, NECKLACES, AND O HER CONDUCTIVE ORNAMENTS SHULD NOT BE WORN
WHEN SERVICING POWER SUPPLIES."
In other words, serious injury could result, possibly even death, but this
should not be indicated. Is this a WARNING or CAUTION?
You can reply to me directly if you like.
Thanks all!!
Vikki
