I need another senior writer to help doc one of our network management
products (NerveCenter) at our Durham site.
First, let me say... you don't need to be certified ;) <sorry, couldn't
resist>
You are the right person for the job if you like:
-Writing about complex products on a variety of levels
-Getting behind the GUI and into the heads of sophisticated
audiences (sys admins and developers) to understand why, not
just how
-Jumping in and getting your hands dirty, while still being able to
work cooperatively with other writers, developers, editors, etc.
-Using Frame and are willing to learn some more about using Frame
to develop modular information products efficiently (if you don't
know what that means, but want to learn, that's OK)
-Keeping up with the latest and greatest technology for online
docs, help, the web, etc.
-Working in an intense, fast-paced environment (that does not
mean working 80 hours a week -- it does mean being quick to adapt
and respond to requests)
-Using style guides and templates and NOT reinventing the wheel with
every new task.
You must understand network management concepts, have a good bit of
experience, and excellent writing and computer skills (NT). Knowledge
of Perl, online help development, and UNIX are pluses.
We offer competitive salaries and great benefits (including bonus,
stock, and 401K plans). Not to mention some darn good company and
all the Coca-Cola and chocolate you can consume ;)
*Note: If you applied for a position earlier this year and I told
*you that you were overqualified, feel free to resubmit your
*application now.
