Hi Gang,

I saw this post on a training development list and thought she might get
some better answers from technical writers than from trainers. Please
send your replies to the address at the bottom of the post. Remember
that she is asking for program suggestions not your opinion on whether
her acquaintance should or could write technical manuals.

Hi everyone - asking for some help/ideas for a person who came on a
report
-writing programme with me recently. I promised I'd see what I could
find
out for her, and it struck me that this list would be a great starting
point....

The desired outcome: To write and produce end-user manuals and technical
specifications for bespoke software.
The Problem: This person, though very knowledgeable technically, finds
it
difficult to write clearly, simply and, especially, logically. She tends
to
assume a level of knowledge and experience which the reader is unlikely
to
have.
Can anyone recommend a good technical manual writing programme - any
format (self-study/trad course) which will help her to succeed. Must be
a UK-based and a UK produced programme - ie UK English.

Any ideas please e-mail me at Cforrest -at- bigfoot -dot- com -dot- Thanks very much.
