And how does the story end:
- Shortly after Papa left, Mama received a better offer and retired to a
sunny little island to write novels. Soon all of the older children drifted
away and the younger children were forced to start managing the little
house and the forest and to their surprise (and horror) it wasn't half as
easy as they thought it was going to be.
- One day whilst they were all sitting around wondering why the housework
didn't seem to get done and why it was so difficult to make enough each
month to pay the bills, one of them said "Wouldn't it have been nice if
Mama and Papa had told us how hard it was going to be." The oldest child,
who had taken on most responsibility replied "yeah, if only they'd left us
some guidelines....."
