Essential Job Functions:

Perform maintenance and update activities on existing documentation
without supervision* Develop new documentation without supervision*
Manage documentation projects independently, including planning,
scheduling, design, development, and production* Be highly skilled in
the use of the authoring tools used in our environment, FrameMaker, MS
Word, and Acrobat, * Follow existing standards for style and format, and
evaluate, develop and implement new standards as required* Understand
and use existing processes and procedures, and evaluate, develop and
implement new processes as required* Actively lead team projects, and
participate as required* Perform detailed level peer edits for format,
style, grammar, spelling and punctuation* Provide high quality output
that requires minimal or no re-work


Secondary Job Responsibilities:

Be knowledgeable of industry trends and directions relating to
information design and delivery including production techniques, both
hardcopy and online* Provide input to long range strategy and directions
relating to the delivery of information* Be effective in responding to
customer requirements * Be knowledgeable in designing information for
usability and retrievability * Provide guidance and technical
supervision to other team members as appropriate


Experience and Education:

BA in English or related field such as Journalism or Communications or
Certificate in Technical Writing* Excellent written and verbal
communication skills* Highly skilled in the use of PC based
applications, in particular FrameMaker and MS Word, including graphics
tools* Experience in the design and development of online information
including HTML, Windows Help, and Adobe Acrobat* Three to five years
experience writing software documentation
