This is the kind of thing I would usually dismiss, but it
appeared in Computerworld, Sept 29, 1997, page one:

"...many new virus strains that could damage user documents
aren't the handiwork of malicious hackers but the result
of a glitch in Microsoft Word, many industry observers say.
And that means more ways for destructive code to get into
Word documents potentially undetected. That's because
most antivirus software can block and clean only known
viruses."
