The Publications department is responsible for producing all user and
service documentation for ASML's semiconductor lithography systems. We
do this in close cooperation with our input suppliers in Manufacturing
and service engineering, Software development, Electronics development,
Applications, Marketing and Product Management. The documentation is
published on paper, cleanroom paper and electronic media (CDROMs for the
UNIX and PC platforms).

To expand our teams, we are looking for technical authors, who will
have the following tasks:

Write user and maintenance documentation and training modules in the
English language for customer's and field service personnel and the
training programs. Your input consists of development documentation,
interviews with other developers, feedback from trainers and users,
and own research running the actual software on your system.

Test your own work, by performing your own maintenance procedures in
the cleanroom together with the input suppliers, or presenting your
own training program. Add hypertext functionality to your documents, and
test it.

Work in a team with development engineers, product management and other
information developers to ensure delivery of the product information,
training and documentation with the first shipment (beta test) and with
the commercial release of the product.

'Own' a large manual or a training course, coordinating and combining the
work of other colleagues. Lead other small projects in the area of
Publications and Training quality assurance, product improvement, on-line
publishing and distribution methods, information structuring and design.

Layout and editing of marketing information bulletins and technical papers.


Requirements:

1. At least three years' experience in a similar function, using your didactical
   and authoring skills. Ability to work according to our departmental standards
   and templates, and the CRI method (Criterion Referenced Instruction).
   Experience with the CRI method is an advantage.

2. Result-oriented, enthusiastic personality with an eye for quality and
   consistency. Willing to travel.

3. Technical knowledge of electronics, mechanics, optics and software at
   Technische Hogeschool (Dutch) or Higher national diploma/degree (English)
   level by experience or education.

4. Excellent command of the English language written as well as spoken.
   Dutch is an advantage.

5. UNIX and FrameMaker (DTP) experience are advantageous.

6. Willing to relocate to the Eindhoven region.
