Yes, but its filters make the non-digest version at least as painless.

Assuming for the moment that they're equally painless, the non-digest
version is superior, because

* It gives you more timely information.

* It distributes the transmission time more uniformly over the day.
At your end, it hides most of it in the background of other
things you're doing. At the server end it spreads out the workload.
