TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
My name is Liz MacDonald and I am new to the list.
I currently work in an IS department in the technical writing and training
area.
I am in the process of developing a departmental library/research center.
Part of my duties include providing research services for the department,
which leads me to my question.
Is anyone aware of any studies papers that may give information measuring
the level of value a technical communicator adds to
programmers, IS departments etc...? I have done a literature search and
have not come up with very much.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
