Carole,

By default, Acrobat "downsamples" the graphics. Usually, this is the cause
of the blurry effect you describe. To turn off downsampling:

1. In Acrobat Distiller, choose Job Options from the Distiller menu.
2. On the Compression tab in the Job Options dialog box, un-check the
Downsample options under "Color Bitmap Images," "Grayscale Bitmap Images,"
and "Monochrome Bitmap Images."
3. Regenerate your PDF file

Your graphics should look better. I hope this helps.
