There are two full-time permanent positions we are trying to fill:
Technical Illustrator/Production Editor and Senior Technical Writer
Level 2.

Technical Illustrator/Production Editor
Summary: Technical illustration and management of production process
after release of publication to Document Control; liaise with Purchasing
for post-production runs
Duties and Responsibilities: Create and modify technical illustrations
for Technical Publications; schedule publications for Change Review
Board; follow-up after CRB; provide hardcopy and online copy for
Document Control; take responsibility for first production run.
Qualifications: 3-5 yrs experience in technical publications
environment; proven capability with Adobe Illustrator and with technical
illustration; familiarity with FrameMaker graphics filters; familiarity
with Production/Print process a plus; familiarity with wireless
communications a plus.
Education: formal training in graphics arts preferred
Language Skills: fluency in English grammar and spelling; familiarity
with technical terminology
Job Possibilities: promotion to Senior Technical Illustrator, then Lead
Technical Illustrator

Senior Technical Writer Level 2
Summary: Information development for existing wireless communications
product line, including writing and post-production. Requires excellent
self-direction, organization and follow-through skills. Position
requires cooperative participation in a cross-functional team, ability
to chair review meetings, ability to be productive starting day 1.
Duties and Responsibilities: Creating and maintaining installation,
operational, and maintenance manuals. Researching engineering
schematics, design diagrams and external specifications. Help in
coordinating page design and layout, style guide, document templates.
Acquiring and organizing source materials. Creating post-production
online documents in .ps and .pdf files.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 yrs experience in technical publications
environment; excellent writing and computer skills; expertise in all
facets of FrameMaker on MAC and PC (page layout, master pages, reference
pages, variable definitions, cross-reference formats, auto-numbering
schemes, book generation, indexing, etc.); proven capability in .pdf
file generation and maintenance; proven capability in documenting SW,
HW, FW and/or application programs. Familiarity with wireless
communications a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; formal training in Technical
Communications a plus
Language Skills: fluency in English grammar and spelling; knowledge of
technical terms
Job Possibilities: promotion to Senior Technical Writer Level 3, then
Lead Technical Writer.
