Fabien Vais:

Hi. That < There is a definite difference between a technical editor and a
proofreader, > has us in agreement. Yet, the "Chicago Manual of Style", circa
art. 3.9, brings grist to the mill. A true proofreader, a specialist, compares
cross-media migration of text (Word to Web, manuscript to book, Web to print,
etc.)--somewhat akin to the art of proofing a printer's efforts to those of an
author's dead manuscript. Proof reading can be a specialty in its own right,
just as typesetting, editing and authoring--even in this digital age... Cheers.

Non-venomously,

Yves J.
