Subject:HTML Help - Direction needed - Thanks From:Suzette Seveny <sseveny -at- PETVALU -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 10 Jun 1998 17:08:12 -0400
I want to thank everyone who responded to my request for some direction. I
learnt quite a bit, but as I should have expected, more questions came up.
The HTMLHelp tools I investigated, all seemed to need IE4.0, which most of
our users don't have yet. We are exclusively MS though, so multiplatform
wasn't an issue.
Some people have asked by to forward received responses to them as well,
and I will summarize and do so, individually.
In following other threads though, and reading Simon's notes from the
conference, I'm starting to wonder if HTMLHelp is the way to go for us at
this time. There are tools out there that apparently do a wonderful job of
converting Winhelp to HTML Help, so maybe we could do that down the road.
Our new applications though, are all going to be intranet-based. Does
anybody know whether Winhelp will run on this type of application?
I need to do a lot more research and thinking. Our developers (and
management) want to be leading edge. So I have to be very careful about
the stand I take and be prepared to back it up with facts. Thanks again for
all the suggestions!
