Of course none of the above applies in a 100% virtual company. I've had
dealings with several of these in the past and I am currently working for
one that's been very sucessful for the 12 years it's been in business.

Managers in these companies are not only offsite but the employees they
manage are also offsite (and often scattered around the country).
Successful managing offsite can be done and is being done--at least in
these circumstances.
