TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Whoa--wait a minute there, Stan! Four days is an awfully short time to
lurk and then start making pronouncements about the competence of the
technical writers on this list. Certainly some of us are more
experienced than others, and certainly some of us are more able than
others, but you seem to have made a blanket decision based on four
fairly slow days. Usually it's better to wait a little longer, maybe
check out the archives before you post--especially a post like yours
which reflects rather badly on you as far as I am concerned.
Certification has been discussed on this list quite exhaustively at
least 3 times during the 3 or 4 (or is it 5?) years I have been on
this list. Maybe you should look it up in the archives and get some
idea of the can of worms you are trying to open up here.
