Subject:info on Sun's JavaHelp? From:"McKenna, Colleen" <cmckenna -at- SPSS -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 27 Aug 1998 17:22:56 -0500
Hi--
I am looking at putting together a Java-based Help system for a standalone
Java application. I have successfully used J-Help in the past, but I am
wondering how it stacks up against Sun's JavaHelp. (Please note that we have
already ruled out Jelp.)
Specifically, has anyone built a JavaHelp system?
Did you use a help-authoring tool to assist you? Which one? (I probably
won't use one, other than an HTML editor.)
Did you run into bugs with JavaHelp?
Did your developers like it?
Have you heard any rumors about when the real shipping version will be
released?
The advantages of JavaHelp over J-Help are such that I would like to make
the switch, but of course time is our biggest limitation, and we already
have a system in place for J-Help.
Please copy me personally on any replies, because I get the list in digest
form.
Thanks!
