what DEC Alpha is?

A DEC Alpha is a computer built around DEC's Alpha Chip which runs one
of three operating systems: DEC Ultrix (a 64 bit UNIX), VMS, or
Windows NT. NT applications for Alpha are compiled specifically for
that platform.

I would think that how you document would be influenced more by the
operating system than the chip.

I hope that helps.
