Lead Technical Writer
This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining printed and
online documentation and help systems; maintaining and enhancing existing
documentation; working with development teams to validate software design
and function during software development. In addition, the Lead Writer will
supervise one writer, make recommendations to management regarding tools and
techniques, and establish technical publication standards for internal and
external documentation.
Qualifications:
* Strong interviewing skills and ability to effectively communicate with
experts.
* Ability to clearly and succinctly interpret information for non-technical
and technical audiences.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and work
under minimal supervision.
* Familiar with software development process and stages in documentation
process.
* Experience developing tutorials, procedure guides, reference materials,
online help systems and CBT.
* Strong skills with Microsoft products and PC desktop publishing tools.
* Knowledge of HTML and/or HTML Help and Adobe FrameMaker.
* Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English or a related
field.
* Four to five years' technical writing experience.
