Subject:FW: education, aptitude, and relevance From:William Swallow <wswallow -at- COMMSOFT -dot- NET> Date:Tue, 20 Oct 1998 09:12:42 -0400
OK, I got my asbestos Scooby Doo underoos on...
It's a sad reality that many in our society come
from a poor educational background, but I don't
think that discussing why is relevant for this
list. IMHO, education relies on a person's
aptitude and willingness to learn and not on
what is actually being taught. But that's
another topic for another list.
Audience is everything when it comes to
effective writing. We should write for their
level of understanding, regardless of whether
we like it or not.
