Ok, time for my two cents.... no degree, barely squeeked through two years
at FSU. Stumbled into online help development from an admin. assistant
position. Someone important noticed how well I wrote, and how well I
learned new software.... voila! Been doing it two years now. I prefer OLH
development to tech writing, but they both seem to get dumped into the same
category. Some days, though, after slogging through revisions of mainframe
manuals, with engineers and QA folks breathing down my neck, I feel like
chucking it all and becoming a waitress at a truck stop outside
Albuquerque. **sigh**
