I've kept out of this because I haven't been sure now relevant a topic it
is, and I've said it before. But since Diane Gutierrez wants to compile
statistics on backgrounds and asked for different backgrounds, here goes:

BA: History
Included papers on electronics repair technicians in the Navy in WWII, the
Allison V-1710 engine and it's employment in WWII, and a Senior Honors
Thesis on economic mobilization in WWII (see a pattern here?) and the the
destruction of material heritage.

MA: History, minor in Nautical Archaeology
My thesis was on the influence of technology on 19th century naval tactical
thought

also an incomplete Ph.D. in History (a bitter story best left untold); minor
in Archaeology
My dissertation included analysis of technical training of Navy enlisted
personnel during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

I do a lot of reading about technical writing, and take training seminars to
gain further expertise.
