Wanted: Junior Technical Writer (3 month contract position) to take
existing documentation in FrameMaker and revise it for a software package
being ported to a different platform.

You will gather information from software developers by e-mail and
interview; test the functionality from within the software package, and
revise existing reference and tutorial documentation to cover changed
functionality; test, edit, and illustrate (where necessary) existing
documentation; update on-line HTML documentation as well as print
documentation from single-source FrameMaker files.

Experience and qualifications:

Candidate must have at least one year experience writing end-user software
manuals, graphic skills, the ability to think in 3D, and to be an
enthusiastic customer advocate.

Experienced working with FrameMaker, HTML, and on-line documentation in a
UNIX environment.

Experience documenting 3D design, animation, or paint programs and writing
for UNIX and NT products will weigh heavily in your favor.

A proven teamwork ethic is required. The ability to work with a group in
pressure situations while maintaining both deadlines and a positive
attitude will be an important consideration. Skills of negotiation,
diplomacy, and prioritization will be necessary.

Education:
Degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
experience.
