Doesn't really matter what you call it, no one's really going to understand
what you do based solely on a title. Here are a few I've had

Assistant Network Administrator
(which meant I ran cable, drilled holes, climbed through ceilings, and did
the dirty work - no theoretical network planning here...)

Graphic Design Consultant
(I made iron-on transfers using CorelDraw)

Information Systems Super-User/Trainer
(I was a glorified HelpDesk Rep - I solved problems mostly over the phone -
things like "I have columns in a WP document, how do I get rid of them/" and
I wrote courseware - occasionally getting to use it to train a class of 4
people)

Networking Security Specialist
(I changed passwords for users who forgot them)

PC Technical Consultant
(I told people what type of PC and software to buy based on what they wanted
to do with it)

Manager of Entertainment Consulting
(I hosted karaoke for a company where I booked my own shows)

I am presently "Account Representative, Y2K/Exchange Project, Client
Services Group".
(I am responsible for Intranet publication of FAQs, document control,
training & troubleshooting MS Office/Outlook, implementation of a new client
satisfaction program, and the list goes on.)None of these thing are really
outlined in my title.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take a fancy title if it means a better
job/paycheque, but for once, can we have a job title that people understand
when they see it? ;)

I seem to recall a thread similar to this one where suggestions like
"Documentation Guru" and "Technical Communications Goddess" ran rampant. No
offense guys, but I think maybe a better job description is more important
than a good title on your resume.

My 2 cents (plus inflation/US Exchange)

Lisa Comeau
SCAT WEE PAWS
(spectacularly cute author of things word-like with extremely exquisite
penmanship and a wry smile)
(There's a title for you - descriptive enough?) ;-)
