Thanks to all who have submitted suggestions for the grammar tips page
that I want to create. We're putting together everything we have, with
what you've contributed, and I have no idea what it's going to look
like. Certainly more than one page, certainly less than a style guide.
But, when it's ready, I'll let you know, post it to the techwriters
website...and make it available free on our website, right alongside the
Proofreading & Editing tipsheet that many of you also contributed to
also.
New question for any grammarian addicts: I was told once, I believe by
one of you, that "put up with" is really a phrasal verb...and thus,
Churchill's well-known statement might not be right on point. Also,
while we're on the subject of politician's grammatical knowledge...does
anyone know what "is" really means? <grin>
